Give this a try and share with me how you are winning your day! Remember, goals are accomplished day by day in a series of small, actionable steps.
"Win the Day" is more than just a mantra...it's a mindset and a method for staying focused on the task at hand as opposed to what you want to accomplish overall down the road. If you focus on each step and strive to win the day, then day by day, you will meet both your short term and long term goals. How do we win the day? Each evening before you go to bed or every morning before you start your day (whichever works better for you), make a Win the Day list for the day ahead of you. Don't make it overwhelmingly long...start with a list of 3 specific things you want to accomplish that day and focus on those 3 things throughout the day. If you accomplish those 3 things, then you've won the day! Make your 3 daily goals very specific. Examples: exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes, drink 64oz or more of water, log my food, meet my protein goal, increase my veggies, try a new group exercise class, walk the bridge, jog or row a mile...while these are all health and fitness related, you can throw in other goals that contribute to your overall growth, wellness and self development. One of my daily goals is to spend 5-10 minutes each morning meditating upon a positive quote or thought for the day.
