Be Your Own Hero

I saw this quote by fairy tale reteller, Neil Gaiman, and it really resonated with me: "I like stories where women save themselves."It made me reflect on my own story and who and where I am today and why I do what I do. We all are shaped by our experiences in our lives, both positive and negative experiences, but I believe we are "response-able" in that we are ABLE to choose how we respond to these experiences.

Why I do what I do...it's so much more than meets the eye. As a physique competitor...it's not just building muscles for aesthetics. As a personal trainer, it's not a job but a purpose, it's not a paycheck but a passion. It's all born from my own personal story...from losing the strongest woman I've ever known, my mother...and my resolve to grow back stronger in the broken places. It's about digging deep to build inner strength and transforming from the inside out to be all that I'm capable of...it's about sharing with others that we are "response-able" for choosing to be the heroes and not the victims of our own stories. It's my mission and my passion as a personal trainer and physique competitor to make women feel empowered, beautiful, strong and confident. I love nothing more than taking women into the weight room and helping them feel comfortable and confident. I hope to encourage women to embrace their strengths and passions, to be stronger and more confident in their daily lives.

Strength comes from within and we all have the ability to develop and channel it. Strong women aren't simply born. They are forged through the various challenges of life. With each challenge, we grow stronger mentally and emotionally as we move forward with our heads held high and a strength that cannot be denied. Strong women are the heroes of their own stories . We ALL have an inner super shero. This is why I love super shero figures, Supergirl and Wonder Woman...they symbolize all of this to me...the strength of a determined woman who is the hero of her own story. YOU are the hero of your own story...no need to be saved. Be strong...be empowered.

"The empowered woman is powerful beyond measure and beautiful beyond description." Steve Maraboli

See you ladies in the weight room!
